History of Matina Pefkos Hotel

1994 - Matina Studios and Apartments was created! Just one block of Studios & Apartments of 10 rooms, already a popular choice for holiday makers as such close proximity to beautiful Pefkos Beach

1999 - 4 more buildings are built (Block 2, 3, 4 and 5) and Matina Studios and Apartments becomes Matina Pefkos ApartHotel. We added a snack bar and a swimming pool, and Matina is fast becoming a hit with holidaymakers 

2000 - Just one year later and another 2 buildings are added (Block 6 and 7). All rooms are one-bedroom apartments therefore making Matina Pefkos ApartHotel a more family friendly resort

2008 - Over winter 2008 Matina received its biggest extension of all, ready for Summer 2009 we added 2 more accommodation blocks (Block 8 and 9), a brand new swimming pool, a new children’s pool, our a la carte restaurant, Meltemi, abc Supermarket and of course, People snack bar

2012 - Thea Rooftop was launched as a wedding ceremony and reception venue and has become one of the most popular venues in the resort of Pefkos. Located above Reception and offering stunning panoramic sea views, it’s easy to see why.

2013 - The Courtyard, nestled behind our Reception, was developed as a wedding ceremony and reception venue, perfect for more intimate occasions. The Courtyard was later renovated in 2016 to offer extended sea views across Pefkos Bay.

2016 - Agia Ekaterini & Agios Georgios Chapel, our own private onsite Chapel, opened for weddings and vow renewals. Accompanying the Chapel was the opening of our bespoke Honeymoon Suite, which is situated with views of the Chapel grounds.

2017 - Our Helios Lounge was opened to cater for breakfast for our Bed and Breakfast and Half Board Guest. Offering a generous, unlimited buffet and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, Helios Lounge has seen the popularity of Bed and Breakfast and Half Board guests increase exponentially.

2019 - Our original Matina Family Snack bar received a well-earned refurbishment. With extended outdoor space, enclosed bar and dining area and beautiful new furnishings, Matina Family Pool Bar is even more popular than ever with our guests.

2022 - Our People Bar pool area received an upgrade with improved tiled flooring and full refurbishment of sun loungers and pool furniture.
